【Handling of the Agreement 】
This participation agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”) establishes the rights and obligations between everyone wishing to participate in Japan Educational International Model United Nations 2024 (JEIMUN 2024) and the Zenmoken (Japan Junior and Senior High School Model United Nations Research Association), which organizes this simulated Model United Nations conference.
When participating in this simulated Model United Nations conference, it is necessary for all participants to read the full text of this Agreement and agree to its terms.
【Applicability】
This Agreement applies to all participants and accompanying teachers from the moment they apply for participation in JEIMUN 2024 until the closing ceremony.
【Definetions】
1: “Organizer” refers to the Japan Junior and Senior High School Model United Nations Research Association.
2: “JEIMUN” refers to the Japan Educational International Model United Nations 2024 organized by the Research Association.
3: “Staff” refers to students and teachers involved in the operation of JEIMUN.
4: “Programs provided by the Organizer” refers to a series of services provided by the Organizer to participants and accompanying teachers during JEIMUN, including
-conference operations / -conference reception duties and so on
5: “Participants” refers to junior and senior high school students and accompanying teachers participating in the simulated Model United Nations conference at JEIMUN and the second-day sightseeing program.
6: “Accompanying teachers” refers to education professionals who oversee participants from each school, as defined in section 4.
【Amendment of the Agreement】
1: If there is a need to change this Agreement, the Organizer will notify participants and accompanying teachers of the details of the changes, the effective date of the changes, and provide a notice period through the JEIMUN website.
2: Participants and accompanying teachers who do not agree with the changes to this Agreement may choose to withdraw from the conference following the procedures specified by the Organizer.
3: The Organizer may cancel JEIMUN due to operational reasons, natural disasters, or other unavoidable circumstances. In such a case, the Organizer will notify participants and accompanying teachers through means selected by the Organizer, such as posting on the JEIMUN website. Please note that in this case, no refunds of participation fees will be provided if the conference has already started.
【Ownership of Rights】
The Organizer will publicly release various documents related to JEIMUN operations to participants and accompanying teachers. All copyrights to these documents belongs to the Organizer.
【Prohibited Activities】
During JEIMUN, participants are prohibited from posting content on social media or elsewhere that defames or maligns third parties or violates Japanese laws and regulations. In case of a violation of this Agreement by participants, the Organizer reserves the right to take actions such as suspending the participant’s participation in the conference. In such cases, the Organizer may also have the authority to delete or modify content posted by participants.
【Participation Fees】
The participation fees that participants pay to the Organizer cover only the conference participation fees as delegates for JEIMUN 2024 and do not include expenses such as accommodation, sightseeing, and meals.
【Request for Insurance and Disclaimer】
1: The Organizer strongly recommends that participants and accompanying teachers residing overseas take out overseas insurance to prepare for unforeseen accidents or incidents when traveling to Japan to participate in JEIMUN.
2: Except in cases where the Organizer intentionally or with gross negligence causes damage to participants through programs provided by the Organizer, or in cases where damage occurs without the participant having taken out overseas insurance, and the overseas insurance program does not provide compensation, the Organizer assumes no responsibility for any damages suffered by participants.
【Handling of Personal Information】
Photographs, videos, and comments obtained or recorded by various accredited media organizations, sponsor companies, and others authorized by the Organizer will be managed strictly by the respective recording or reporting entities. These materials may be freely used in publicity materials related to the conference (including conference posters, programs on the day of the conference, conference reports, JEIMUN secretariat website, and various media outlets of accredited media organizations and sponsor companies). Registered personal information will be used solely for the purposes of the current conference and future conference continuity and will not be used for any other purposes. It will be managed strictly.
【Infection Control】
To prevent the spread of new infectious diseases such as the COVID 19, please refrain from participating if you have symptoms such as fever or cough.
